Ah, overthinking. Registered now, thanks!

I've been trying to register for about an hour, but no matter what I try, I get the message "A fatal error has occurred. Try again later." Captcha is visible on the registration page, I've tried using IE, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari to register, and I've tried a bunch of different unique usernames. But still nothing. I'm sure I'm missing something - thanks in advance for any help.
