[Fighter] Panzer Guide (Extensive)

26 posts in this topic

Hello hello everybody, Kuro here again for another Musket related Guide this time taking on the Fighter class' only long range class THE PANZER!

First of I would like to give my thanks to Mushy whose quick Panzer guide inspired me to create this extensive guide to answer all the questions that come to mind regarding this Fighter Job. Now let's get down to business!

panzerd.jpg

Why would you want to try Panzer? Panzer is a long range tank with high level Heavy Armor Expertise, and a lot of mobility buffs and group support buffs. Unlike the Rogue class that splits into the bow type and the dagger type all Fighter jobs use close range weapons with some skills along the road that can be used for long range attacks. This makes Panzer the only Fighter job that can fight from afar without any need to close the distance. Like Sniper, Panzer lets you wield a musket and actually be able to do something with it rather than having it as a collector's item.

However a word of caution to this tale; Do not use Panzer as a starting character, considering the current bugs this is more of a fun job mostly for the "Collector" type players who want to sample everything in the game. You would want to start the game with a more user friendly path that lets you grind for gold with relative ease such as Blade Taker, Temper Master or Cardinal.

What path should I take for Panzer? Like Mushy said the Elven Panzer is better than the Human Panzer, I will explain this below:

Elven Path:

Path 1 > Warrior > Infantry > Rune Knight > Panzer

Path 2 > Guard > Swordsman > Rune Knight > Panzer

The difference between the two paths is that in Path 1 while tanking may not be much of an issue hitting things might be, while in the second path before you become a Rune Knight you might have issues with tanking things.

Human Path:

Path 1> Warrior > Infantry > Gladiator > Missing a LOT of things (will be discussed down below)

Path 2> Guard > Swordsman > Knight > A useless path, Panzer has Knight skills already.

For this Guide we are taking Path 1 going Warrior first to gain some AOEs, then Infantry for tanking, then Rune Knight for its unique abilities and finally Panzer. Please note that this path will be utilizing two handed weapons so you won't have a shield, unless you build your own one handed skill set. If you are new to the game I advise against a One handed path because one handed weapons have less damage and will generally require you to be in a party to effectively grind and unless you have friends that are will to help you then you will have issues killing monsters.

Starting your Fighter Levels 1 - 20:

Due to that extremely fast leveling nature of Celestia Luna you can pretty much get to level 20 staying in Gate of Alker in less than 15 minutes. You will take the following skills when you become a Warrior at 20:

Buffs:

Fighter's Heart lvl 2

Warrior Form lvl 2

Nature's Shield >>> All extra defense is appreciated due to the fact that you won't be using a shield.

Skills:

Wheel Wind max

Crash Blow > for Burning Crash

Uppercut > For Earthquake

From the three attack skills above you can drop Crash Blow if you're just planning to grind straight to Panzer.

Passives:

Two Handed Training max

Axe Sword or Mace training based on preference

Mace Protection/Sword Rapidity/Axe Mortality based on above

Risk Taker > Optional

Heavy Weapon Accuracy > Optional (May come in handy later on in Great Garden)

Enhanced HP > Optional

Your skills set will look something like this when you become a Warrior (I went for 2 handed Axe):

level20warrior.jpg

After you become a warrior you will be spending the majority of your time in Zakandia and Moon Blind Forest/Swamp:

20-30 lvl in Zakandia

30-40 Moon Blind Forest/swamp

Level 40 > Infantryman: This job greatly boosts your ability to tank however it will cause some slight issues with grinding if you haven't prepared your gear beforehand. The only attack skills you have at this time are the ones from your previous job unless you're going Guard > Swordsman.

Passives:

Heavy Armor expertise > Tankiness

Continue the other passives and skills from before until maxed

Optional:

Blood Leak > More resistance

Troopership > More tanking power

You can also take any third targeted two handed skill if you think you lack in firepower

Enhance HP > In case you think your defense alone isn't enough.

Skills:

Attract Circle > Mobbing (combined with your AOEs this makes leveling a lot faster)

Blessing Guard > Due to lack of shield this buff can help with your defense.

During this time you will be spending your time grinding in the following maps:

40-50 Way to Howling

50-65 Howling/Cave

65-75 Howling Cave 2nd floor

Your Skill set near 75 will look like this:

level40infantryman.jpg

Level 75 > Rune Knight (This job is offered by Celerian the pretty blue haired elf in Alker)

Rune Knight is mostly needed because of three skills and the three Aura buffs:

Rune Impact > One of the greatest and fastest casting stuns in game that does not miss. More importantly it is most favorable because you can use it while wielding a Musket.

Sword Storm > An AOE skill that will help you both on your way to becoming a Panzer and as a Panzer because once again it doesn't need a specific weapon.

Sonic Boom > Long range skill that once again is not dependent on specific weapons, best utilized while in war.

The things that set Rune Knight apart from Knight and hence needing you to take an Elf path is the wider variety of skills and buffs such as Aura buffs. If you take a human path and let's say choose Gladiator at 75 there won't be any Rune Impact, buffs or even proper defensive skills and passives. In short Human Panzer >>>> BAD

Skills:

Rune Impact (Fastest "none missing Stun" in game)

Burning Crash (Secondary Stun skill/ optional)

Sword Storm for AOE damage adding to Whirlwind for ease of crowd control

Earthquake (ditto)

Sonic Boom (Long range initiator skill)

Buffs:

Rampage Aura

Accuracy Aura

Shield Aura

Optional:

Mana Storm > In case you think you need the extra mana

Rune Cry (anti-stealth AOE debuff which you are unlikely to use since in CL serious war won't happen until 105)

Solid Shield (If you are using a One Handed build)

Body Check > Additional disable that does not require specific weapons

Mace Protection > More def in case you're using a Mace instead of an Axe

Note that Rune Knight is a 'Balanced' fighter class so there is no emphasis on damage output, your only damage providing buff is Rampage Aura and you get no extra levels on Fighter's Heart and Warrior Form.

INTERMISSION! The Human Path for Panzer >>> Gladiator

In case you decide to take the Human path because of its naturally higher damage here are a few points to consider:

Human Gladiator > Panzer

Supposedly you pick human and follow the same first two jobs. As a Gladiator you have access to higher level Wheel Wind and

Earthquake and a level 6 Fighter's heart which provides more damage than a level 2 Rampage Aura.

However as you are going for Panzer you need to understand what you are giving up if you choose a human character:

No Accuracy Aura

No Shield Aura

No Rampage Aura

No Rune Impact (the stun that can be used with a Musket and does not miss)

No Sonic Boom (Long range skill that can used with a Musket)

No AOEs that can be used with a Musket

No Nature's Shield for more def

The only things you gain as a human Gladiator going Panzer are:

Level 6 Fighter's Heart

Burning Rage which is offset by Rune Knight's Rampage Aura

Risk Taker Passive Level 6

Bottomline is if you go Gladiator then you will not be able to grind effectively as a Panzer using Muskets because you have no AOEs or extra skills that can work with your Musket, which means you will have to switch to a 2-handed axe/sword/mace which in turn defeats the purpose of going Panzer in the first place because without a Musket Panzer is pretty much a nerfed Crusader/Paladin hybrid.

INTERMISSION OVER! Let's get back to our Elf Path:

As a Rune Knight you will be grinding in the following places:

80-95 Fairy Valley

95-105 Great Garden/Nera Habor

OPTIONAL IDEA FOR FASTER GRINDING: I noticed that from 90 on wards grinding becomes much much harder so I will tell you how I did it faster, if you have a character that is under 19 levels above your level 90 Rune Knight but is still in the same range of the Mantis in Great Garden (AND capable of grinding them) you can make your leveling a lot easier by partying with your own character and grinding in the Garden. Please be warned that due to the naturally high evasion rate of those ugly bugs having a strong Mage is a much more plausible plan to make this work. I did it with my Cardinal.

During your time as Rune Knight your skill set will look like this:

level75runeknight.jpg

LEVEL 105 >>> PANZER:

Congratulations! You have finally made it to the Musket Wielding tank! The first thing you need to do when you become Panzer is to get yourself a Reskill scroll because you'll need a major makeover! Before we get to what skills to take let's look at the useful ones that are available once you start using your Musket:

Passives:

Musket Accuracy >>> Works

Skills that work with Musket:

Sonic Boom

Rune Impact >>> while it works perfectly it sadly looks weird when you use it with a musket because your character will point the musket downwards.

Sword Storm

Body Check

Holy Strike

Rune Cry

Holy Avenger

Musket skills gained:

Standing Fire

Iron Night > Has a flower icon for some reason

Kneeling Shot > Similar to Sniper's Kneeling Fire but no status effects

Musket Proximity > Knockback close range musket skill, the animation looks awesome! This skill stuns though the chance is lower than Rune Impact

Musket Blast > Bleed skill also close range the animation is seriously weird, and the bleed doesn't damage that much, though for some reason if it crits it will hit VERY hard.

Reloading > Attack speed buff, slightly increases attack animation speed (not sure it really works)

Buffs:

Solid Weapon

Blessing Guard

Weapon Synchro

Armor Synchro

Nature's Shield

Below is the skill set that I chose for my Panzer: (No need to worry if you want to follow this build, it's been designed to take the SP at level 105 into consideration.)

Attack Skills:

Sonic Boom - Max

Spirit Sword - 16

Rune Impact - Max

Rune Cry - 1

Sword Storm - Max

Attract Circle - 1

Body Check - 10

Standing Fire

Iron Night

Kneeling Shot

Musket Proximity

Musket Blast

Divine Justice

Buffs (All max):

Rampage Aura

Accuracy Aura

Shield Aura

Solid Weapon

Blessing Guard

Fighter's Heart

Warrior Form

Weapon Synchro

Nature's Shield

Mana Storm

Passives:

Troopership - 2

Risk Taker - 2

Heavy Armor Expertise - 20

Musket Accuracy - 3

Enhance HP - 11 or above

Blood Leak - 2

Mana Control - 5

Bugs:

Musket Training >>> does not increase your damage

Musket Skill don't have icons

May or may not be a bug but compared to sniper Panzer range is quite low

Alternate Builds:

Tank Panzer > Because of all the tank buffs Panzer recieves you can truly create a long range tank by going full

VIT instead of STR and then invest in STR and damage items completely to make up for the lack of damage, or vice versa which means going full STR but investing in defensive items instead. A full tank Panzer I dare say is almost as hard as a Paladin to take down.

Traditional Tank Panzer > To go for an old fashioned tank just skip all of your Musket related skills and build up your Panzer with a one handed weapon and shield, treating him/her as a Paladin. Because of their passives Panzers can make really durable tanks but if you only want a tank you're better off going Paladin.

105-115 Nera Harbor (if you're farming gold)

110+ Grave (if you just want level)

Here are some screenshots of our Panzer's animation and damage:

skillss.jpg

And that concludes our guide to Panzer! I hope they fix all the bugs soon so we can use this gun wielding tank to its fullest! Have fun in your journey!

What level do the buffs from the panzer class go up to? Also how fast is the musket prox move? Can a human panzer use that move as fast as rune impact? Also what is the stun rate for it, like 70%? Or does it not say?

let's see...you get the level 4 Solid Weapon, level 2 Divine Justice, level 10 Blessing guard, level 2 Armor and weapon synchro. The rest are just from the previous jobs. Regarding Musket Proximity, I can assure you it's a lot slower than Rune Impact, as for the chance to stun I'd say it should be around 30-40% it doesn't say in the skill itself though.

My panzer works fine for me and it can tank really good, even thou I placed all my stats on STR and can deal some damage. For my VIT, well i mostly enchant my Armor and Accessories with VIT Enchantments, but it can still take on a mod especially when I farm for gold at Nera Harbor.

the only reason we went to panzer are:

1. musket got highest dmg in game.

2. Range should be 2nd longest after sniper.

3. And i believe panzer crit dmg are higher than the other classes.

but from what i've seen on the screenshot.

the ranges are shorter in aplha than i thought.

is that true??

i think mix str and dex, because Panzer job have more phy deff from basically

Nice guide :) +1, I'll try the elf one.

btw the word Panzer means tank in German, so you wouldn't be surprised if this class is comparable to a tanky Paladin

Being a panzer in my first character, I can explain a lot about it. The first thing, this guide is 100% true about choosing Panzer elf, but panzer human? Is it that bad? Did anyone think about how bad is it? I'll tell you how did I come across panzer.

As my first character, I've decided to ditch the guides and go with playing all by myself. It was a false decision that was going to break down my entire gameplay.

Path: Warrior>>>Swordsman>>>Gladiator>>>Destroyer

That path was the path I'm taking. I know what you are thinking: This path is truely based on damage and is pretty lean with defense(Can't tank alone at Nera. Dies within four or five hits from single monster)and it wouldn't work at all as a starting character. After I have reached level 85, I have realised the false mistake I had made. I've been missing HAE(heavy armor expertise)No buffs except Risk Taker, Fighter Heart and one other that boosts strength(Forgot the name). Figured out I was supposed to go for Knight instead of Gladiator if I want to continue with the path above, so I was simply stuck at that. Hopefully, Zelda(AKA GM Sapphire) and her buddy(Zydeth) were my guides to this. They thinked with me to help me resolve this issue, and we came to a conclusion.

This path that you are taking, you shouldn't find any problem grinding from 1 to 75. After 75, being Gladiator grants you a heap ton of damage, but you're VERY squishy against monsters, due to your really low defense. Those two mentioned above(Zelda and Zydeth)informed me that Panzer is the upgraded Knight as level 105. All you have to do is survive until 105 and then BAM. A lot of defense to go on with your previous path.

Current path: Warrior>>>>Swordsman>>>Gladiator>>>Panzer

Going through this path, as mentioned here in this guide, will show that you're missing A LOT of things. Other than the buffs, the relatively low defense will have you suffering trying to reach 105.

What do you lose as human Panzer?(Mostly mentioned in this guide)
Taking the destroyer path(in case that's what you've wanted that since you've started to play here)
The buffs you could have gotten all the way as an elf.
Not having attract circle(Just in case you've followed the same path I've taken)

That's it? Yes, that actually is it. Other than the things mentioned in this guide, these are the things I truly find a loss.

Now, what does Panzer reward you with?
Level 20 HAE(Heavy armor expertise)
All Knight skills but with higher levels
Rewarded defense(At least 2-3k more after getting HAE to 20)

I'll be linking a picture of my stats and skills for you guys, so you can figure out how good is it.
I have had 700 defense as Gladiator. After switching to Panzer, here are my stats.

In case you think all this gear is +12, no it is not. Only the armor and gloves.
