Ever seen inside a Coco pod?

I traveled to South America and the Caribbean recently and I borrowed a few dozen Coco plant pods. I wanted to share with you guys how it looks, especially our Northern friends may have never seen inside a Coco before. So Here you go :P

 

. You "Crack" a Coco open by hitting it on the side, Then you suck on those seeds inside and it taste sweet. If you let the Coco Pod (entire thing) to decay it will smell of rich dark chocolate #InterestingFacts

 

This type of Red Coco has more of a Sour taste because it creates a lower grade of chocolate. Its cheaper.

Yea the actual Coco is in a hard membrane with the edible flesh around it. The stem holding the seed around it is also edible.

Does the stem taste like the seeds?

Yep yep. Seeds are sweet, then so is the stem. Same if its sour/bitter.
