[Guide] How To Avoid Drama!

Recommended Posts

C. State the obvious, but in a way such that staff will be inclined to recruit an active Game Master.

I fail to see the point in that logic, we will never even think that drama between players is a reason to get more staff members because that is not part of the job.

Need a GM online when it goes overboard and players start cursing at each other / bullying.

Since the server is international, not every player has the confidence in their English to make a report. You'd be surprised at what simple drama escalates to between players...

It's not the game masters job to get involved with player fueds and personal issues. Guilds fight, to prove who is best. That's the way it's supposed to be. If someone reports another player then the game masters will get involved and if necessary punish someone.

Drama is one of the worlds most watched genre in movies and Tv series. Of course people like it :p

So that the GMs have to deal with petty drama cases which 95% of the time don't actually break any rules, as I said again, not part of the job.  I no longer accept bullying as part of harassment because honestly you have to be very sensitive or young to not be able to deal with that. When it gets to real harassment then you can report it. Otherwise the typical "weak", "noob" etc is always from all sides, it almost never is one sided, so what are we going to ban the 15 players involved in the drama?

From what I've seen, players tend to just shut up and behave nicely to each other when a GM is online -- that was the point I was trying to illustrate, a ban doesn't solve everything and certainly wouldn't solve this. However, the steady appearance of an authority figure would really help out the server in more ways than one.

It's my first thread, I should have been more specific.

Okay, that makes more sense, however sadly as much as it makes sense it's not true.

Countless of times I have shouted in green text how RMT/Account trading etc is forbidden only to have somebody shout about it a few minutes after. Countless of times I was in game and not AFK either and some person went to call somebody an idiot almost in front of me and more. People who want to make drama will keep doing it, they'll just go to another map or keep it in guild/alliance and etc chats. But I understand your point, it's just not entirely true.

I didn't say they had to be involved in personal issues (should have been more specific) ... but read above about that. It's more about how players treat each other, really.

These are just tips for those who don't like drama or don't want to deal with it (a choice), fix-wars are an option and also show which guild is best.

There are many players who are tired of it. A TV-show is entertaining, a group of people calling each other "noobs" (on shout for hours) really isn't ... unless you are easily amused. I honestly don't see the comparison there.

Use it as motivation to get stronger or get into a stronger guild.

this is very simple..players should learn how to respect one another..if you and your guild/union is strong..well..+100 pts for you..right thing to do  maybe is to keep it simple, stay humble as we all should be..and give others the chance to enjoy the game the way they want it to be but..of course by abiding with the IN GAME rules..

#2 Rule -- Don't get involved in Open Wars! - not all the time, ther are still few chill guild to war against

If you've played on this server long enough, you've probably realized by now that the second most dramatic course of events appear out of what we call open wars (wars you keep open).

Sequence of events:

1) You join a guild.

2) Guild gets open war with a big union.

3) Losing guild ends war.

4) Winning guild proceeds to make drama on shout towards losing guild --- shouting "surrender" for two-hours.

5) The losing guild becomes an "enemy" to the winning guild and is blacklisted from PVP (this usually happens because 70% of the server belongs to one collective large union, and between the smaller guilds that remain on the other 30% -- it is statistically not possible to win against the majority).  - no matter how strong u are

we need party war!  :D

even if you are strong enough to kill a 140+ then how are you supposed to take on a bunch of characters? its not like you are imba enough to kill a whole bunch of players in one swoop
