I don't think spell barrier would affect %age of dot, heals, debuffs, and buff skills. It only affects normal matk skills.

you will notice, sometimes when you are doing magic skills, you will only do half of original no-crit damage. That is a resisted spell. Spell barrier reduce the chance of this to occur

No. It only affects direct damage skills by halting the damage

Thank you Jonah,

Referring to the direct damage, for example, the Envenom skill, it hit for 1 damage then if poison or not. If I do not have Spell Barrier, even if Envenom did not hit for 1 damage, does the poison still hit on chance or not?

some DoT skills from mage ( more common on single-target spell ) , dealt 1 damage ( likewise sleeping skill ) , but if the DoT debuff success ( based on skill level affect the chance ) , it followed up afteward . however , the power of debuff and time is also based on spell's skill level but not own's magic attack . if its critical , instead dealt 2 damage ( of course , still not enough )

a example of DoT : Holy Taker ( less powerful but AOE version of Turn Undead ) in lv 1 , dealt 1164 damage per sec , 95% chance and lasts 4.5 sec
