Bow Attack Range + Long Shot

Is this a bug? The range of Double Shot is 20m and with Long Shot lv5 passive on my character, that range extends to 22.2m. Now if I move away from the target much farther than 22.2m and click the skill, my character would run closer to the target then cast the skill. What I observe though is that my character wouldn't run to the distance where it has maximum range (22.2m) but would run slightly closer, I think it's the skill range of 20m. I tried this with basic attack and marked the longest range my character would hit bambooboo and if I move away from there and attack, my character would still run past the marked area then attack. Is it a bug or that's just how it should be? Thanks ^^
