As long as you don't have the 'newcomer' status (eg. you are a Member) in a guild, I'm pretty sure you can change your nick on your own. As for family nicknames, I think all members can change their own titles. Also! I wouldn't worry too much, because I don't think you can be banned for having a swear in a nickname, or anything like that - you would probably be warned first by a mod or GM. I haven't played in a while, however, so my memory is a little hazy. ;A; Hope I helped anyway!
