    Arc Ranger Paths

+12 altair till 105 would be enough because @ 105 It would be better to use a crafted bow for better evasion so that you can avoid mobs better @ NH just keep your altair for its buffs

    Arc Ranger Paths

Since every now and then there are people that couldn't make up their mind about their ARs, I would like to share my experience and ideas to them about the Arc Rangers. I only have been in celestia for more than a month but In any game I was always a Bow user so you can call me a Bow Lover :P and with this guide I hope I can help with others who also have a thing for Bows. I. Why choose the arc ranger? II. AR Paths III. Stat Trivias IV. Str vs Dex V. Notes VI. Link to other Useful guides I. Why choose the Arc Ranger? This class has the highest boost to a Bow user and most likely the perfect class to someone who loves range combat. The arc ranger has the highest range amongst all the class in Luna. Bow users can be squishy but with a good path, this class can offer you top class crit rate, crit damage and added the with their insane range, they can wash out opponents from afar without giving them a chance to fight back. II. AR Paths These are the 3 most used AR path. ARs even with a different path, have the same level of Bow mastery, LightEvasion, Magic Arrow, Fire Arrow, Zephyr etc. So most likely they just differ in the buffs. II.1 (Human) Ruffian/Voyager - Archer - Assasin - Arc Ranger crit damage 16% - death sign 21% - fatal touch 10% - predator crit rate 135 - blind side 130 - detect hole 20% - patk burning rage 47% - total crit damage 265 - total crit rate 8% movespeed - rapid movement II.2 (Elf) Ruffian/Voyager - Scout/Archer - Rune Walker - Arc Ranger crit damage 16% - death sign 21% - fatal touch 15% - whisp fire (party buffs) crit rate 105 - blind side 100 - detect hole 145 - whisp wind (party buffs) 52% - total crit damage 345 - total crit rate 8 eva - side step 20% movespeed - whisp stream (party buffs) *useful uniqe path skill Casting Foil(lvl 2) - 0.6 cast time - range 15 - sleep/silence 1 sec? Illusion Attack(lvl 20) - 629 Power - 1.6 sec cast time - range 8 stun 4.95 sec - 79% chance II.3 (Human) Ruffian/Voyager - Archer - Treasure Hunter - Arc Ranger crit damage 16% - death sign 21% - fatal touch crit rate 120 - blind side 130 - detect hole 20% - patk burning rage 37% - total crit damage 250 - crit rate *useful uniqe path skill Extortion (lvl 2) - increase 31% drop rate - 5 sec duration - 9 mins cooldown Hunter's Blast (lvl 15) - 563 Power - 1.6 sec cast time - range 8 - 251 burn 12 sec III. Some Stats Trivias 1 level = +1 strike / eva Stats / Crafted / Philo 10 Dex = 1 strike 10 Dex = 1 eva 1 Dex = 1.4 crit rate 20 Str = 1 strike Zephyr Dex 5 Dex = 1 Strike 5 Dex = 1 eva 1 Dex = 2.8 crit rate IV. Str VS Dex Str adds Patak and strike while Dex adds crit rate, strike, evasion and crit damage. Personally I would choose Dex over Str but it will be your choice since reset stats will always be available. I myself conduct an experiment on my char with pure str and pure dex stats same equipment same level and self and pet buffs. Pure Str Magic Arrow Crit damage versus red turtles - 39k - 42k Magic Arrow Crit damage to a fighter with 3.2k def - 10.5k Pure Dex Magic Arrow Crit damage versus red turtles - 38k - 41k Magic Arrow Crit damage to a fighter with 3.2k def - 10.2k V. Notes 1. Class bonuses doesn't apply here in Celestia Luna so choosing between ruffian / voyager wouldn't matter that much. 2. For easier leveling, I suggest you make yourself a buffer specifically an Elemental Master or Rune Master. They give movespeed, patack buffs like the bishops and an additional Crit damage and crit rate buffs that would really be helpful for Patak characters like AR. 3. Since this is my first time doing this kind of thing, If there are some questions/ clarifications / additional informations/ mistakes / violent reactions on what I wrote I would gladly want to hear it :) VI. beholder bug

huhu and I just recently bought patience helm for 1.5b :( beholder got bugged :( edit: my friend can use his beholder without any problem hmm i wonder why :(
  4. Even with 1 hand + shield BT, Treasure Hunter-Blood Taker will still be A LOT better than Assassin-Blood Taker

    Newbie question

    1 agi = 1 dex philo/crafted/stat 10 dex = 1 strike 10 dex = 1 eva 1 dex = 1.4 crit but zeph buffs doubles the value the dex stats (ex. 10 dex zeph = 2 strike)
  6. JoeQ

    What Strike do ?

strike = accuracy and dex doesn't affect cast speed nor with cast delay, it only adds a little bit eva, strike and crit damage.
  7. JoeQ

    Arch Ranger

Self buffs, Sin-AR still has higher crit damage than RW-AR. RW-AR only excel in crit rate and evasion but barely noticeable. Sin-AR when buffed with Whispering Buffs will have the upper hand in every aspect by a great margin. The only advantage the RW-AR can get is their fast cast disable skill which is Cast Foil.
  8. Dual wield attack skills are bugged here in celes. You can only use Hunter's bomb, Smoke and Shield boom which you can only obtain by choosing TH instead of the assassin. If you insist on going sin-BT then you had lost your chance to wield two daggers. Because of the current bug (might be permanent) in the skills the perfect path for BT is just like slardar said

    Rogue Topic

You don't need strike when farming at NH. Dagger + shield user's can easily pump their evasion to a point where all the patak of NH mobs would completely miss. Def/vit rouge is still good in NH but why do you have to tank their damage if you can easily evade them all Just like what the others say, vs mobs = enough evasion for monsters to miss then invest in pumping your damage at the same time for duels you can switch your accessories (hathor and flick) depending on your enemy Duel vs mage = str + vit (+ vit boots) Duel vs fighter = eva + strike / str / vit Duel vs rouge = eva + strike / str
  10. Predator will also increase your bow crit damage but you need a dagger to use it. You just need to carry any kind of dagger with you just for buffing this skill then switch again to bow.

    Evasion

It's not weird. Actually it was kind of accurate. The reason why you get 32 eva from equipping your vestige is because the Light Evasion skill only take effect once you equipped full Light armors (armor, gloves, shoes). Lets do some math.... If I'm not mistaken you're a TM right? so TM gets lvl 9 Light Evasion so thats 18 eva 10 eva = vestige 18 eva = Light evasion 4 eva = dex = 32 eva I'm still wondering how many dex = evasion exactly because when equipping 10 dex equips it adds 1 eva but lvl 8 zeph which has 80 dex gives me 16 eva O_O. My only conclusion is that dex items (philo/crafted/reinforce) would be 10 dex = 1 eva but.... zephyr 5 dex = 1 eva o_O

    Need help in SA path

Human mage base stats - 55 vit 65 int 70 wis Human gets Burning Rage - 20% Patak Elf mage base stats - 45 vit 70 int 75 wis Elf gets Nature's Buffs - 8% Pdef and Mdef If the mage path wouldn't have any human race specific class then I think it would be better off elf.
  13. If you chose to be a thief rather than an archer then grinding till 105 using a bow would be really hard. You lost so much damage since that path (ruff - thief - assasin) doesn't have any or has the minimum boost with the use of a bow. That's why the practical thing to do is to get at least the archer class to make it easier to grind till 105 using bow. *You can also use daggers to level till AR but use the same path (ruff - archer - sin) for you to use wind breaking and the other aoe of the assasin class because AOEs are very usefull in DDs. You just have to farm for Reskill or just vote :) If I'm not mistaken class bonuses doesn't apply here in celes so choosing Archer or Thief doesn't have any effect in the Assasin - AR path.

    New need your help!

Warlocks / GMs can also have an average amount of def/hp depends on the path or build you take. BT guide ->
  15. If you're talking about job passives then hmm.... From a pinned topic in FAQs -> http://forum.celestialuna.com/index.php/topic/400-frequently-asked-questions-facts-etc/ so it's better to get cleric just like what the TS states to make it easier to grind because you'll get fast heal and other basic buffs that you'll only get when you change into cardinal
  16. JoeQ

    TM help

stay with your TH RW - TM is bad since you won't be getting hunter's blast which would be your main attack skill when grinding @ NH only TH and entra got blast, none for TM
  17. JoeQ

    Arch Ranger

nah it was nothing hehe , we all do mistakes :P I just thought I got the wrong typo so i kept asking
  18. JoeQ

    TM help

using restat on a character level 88 would be wasteful, better start a new one just for the record, my 116 AR pure str now got 273 eva (288 with berserk) self buffs just by wearing only 5 - 8 eva philo per equip so just imagine how high your dagger type rouge with whispering buffs can have
  19. JoeQ

    TM help

1 level = +1 eva 10 dex = +1 eva , so at lvl 105 that would only be 10 eva higher than pure str Now you have to at least get 12 eva philo per equip and that would cost you billions :D so if you don't have the resources for this then you can consider grinding with dagger + shield then reset @ 117
  20. JoeQ

    TM help

dual wield on 105 will give you a -450 crit and -50 evasion for penalty now if you got 300+ eva @ level 105 before putting skill on dual wield then it would be just fine even with -50 eva
  21. JoeQ

    TM help

lvl 83 TM? if i'm not mistaken TMs are 5th tier and at level 105 requirement. Are you talking about TH? and you don't exactly need much of dex to get high eva, you just need high eva equips
  22. well actually every job can do solo just fine except for fighter tank types since they concentrate mainly on def and sacrifice too much attack for it. you can have these choices for mage (1)sorce - Inquirer - cardinal (human) (2)priest - warlock - soul arbiter (elf) (3)sorce - bish - soul arbiter (elf) (4)monk - bishop - grand master (human) (5)monk - warlock - cardinal (human) edit: added the 5th path xD and path bonuses don't apply here in celestia so you don't have to worry about that
  23. JoeQ

    Omfg o.o

The thread looks like a rant rather than a query
  24. reaching that kind of def for bow users would be nearly or even impossible the only choice for bow for PVE is to go for (1) pure evasion (2) pure damage (3) a mix of both though you'll only get an average result Pdef will never be an option and if you did choose this side, you'll sacrifice a lot of qualities a bow user should get an advantage of
