  1. Money ain't the thing, here in my country, the best universities are free, but require good grades.

And in fact, she effectively wants me to go to an expensive university (an exception, I know it is a really good place) but I can't seem to accept that she wants to pay it AND that she doesn't want me to even have a voice on the decision.

    Geez.

I wasn't aware most of the universities in your country were free, that being the case she should really let you decide haha :)

  2. I don't know, are you the one who's going to pay for the university tuition? Depending on where you go, it could be well over $100,000 in the four year cycle.

If she's paying for it, she should have a big say in where you go, but I think you should be able to choose your own major when you get there.

  3. wow, okayy  :D

now im currently lvl 125, 2 handed axe user, with patk 6.8k and pdeff 3.9k. stat full vit, equips str mix vit

wdyt? is that enough or still small damage and deff?

ohh ya btw, in lvl 135+ after I max all those 2h skill needed, i need to learn 1h+shield skill too with the rest of SP i have? so i can have 2 types of magnus in 1 char?

Yup, that's correct -- the goal is to be a switch hitter at 135+ so you can adapt to many different situations :D.

  4. whoaa thankyou for your answer sir  :D

soo magnus with stat vit and str mix vit equips is better than eva magnus?

I think that's the best build, we call that the "balanced" Magnus -- good physical attack and physical defense, while maintaining good HP (At lower levels 1-handed, at 135+ switch hitting between one handed and two handed).

And yes, because you can block hits with solid shield and shield training, while also dishing out enough damage to kill hitters in war quite easily. Depending on how great your items are, with VIT/STR mix you can achieve anywhere between 6k - 7.5k on both your physical defense and physical attack stat.

Survive in battle, kill in battle, run around happily -- life of a balanced Magnus.

  5. With normal items -- not really. The reason being is your damage output would be really low when reaching sufficient evasion to counter a good portion of hitters.

However, evasion on a destroyer is another story -- with the high base attack, passives like rage burst and risk taker, active buffs like warrior form and fighters heart level 7 and 8 respectively -- you can retain good damage while having evasion. Also, the skill Berserker that destroyers get add a bit of evasion so that helps too. The only two downsides to making an evasion destroyer is you'll have a harder time against tankers and high hp/pdef cardinals (your critical rate and damage suffer a bit when compared to a pure attack destroyer) plus the fact that good evasion gears on heavy armor is relatively expensive when compared to its light armor counterparts.

Also, fearful blow is a good substitute for rune impact -- although the animation is longer, it's also a never miss skill unless your opponent has over 1,000 evasion stats.

  6. Cardinals with pure vitality equips, including cape -- paired up with BWS costume and maybe even frank hat will give you lots of HP and p.def.

Use light armor and max the skill light armor expertise, +12/+13 every piece of equipment and get really high vitality philos on your items. (27+ vit philos)

  7. It's a good suggestion, bearing in mind the fact that most people solo-DD now and would appreciate the challenge. I hardly see anyone finding a DD-partner ... as for newcomers, it's really easy when it's two players posed against those nerfed mobs.

  8. This happens for many reasons.

    1. If the GPU (video card) in your computer has low ram associated with it, then you won't be able to run multiple celestia clients as that's too much for your graphics card to handle ... seems like you're running windows xp and might have dated hardware.

    2. Update to the latest version of DirectX by microsoft, google it and you can easily find a link. Your issue will likely be solved via this method seeing that the error is direct x related.

    3. You have installed incorrect graphics drivers for the graphics card in your system (I had this issue before). In this case, removing the bad driver and installing the correct one will solve the issue. I wouldn't advise doing this, unless you have an AMD/ATI/Nvidia graphics card in your system ... as those are easy to find on the respective company websites.

    4. Rarely, if your graphics card driver has an update ... it fixes bugs like these.

I believe point #2 is likely your problem, but it could as well be the limitations of your hardware like Orange said earlier.

  9. Hello i dont know if something happens with the server but it doesnt let me log in, as long as i select server it says failed the connection to the server please check the website for latest informations, is it down or?:x

Sometimes this happens when I open up the client fast and type in my details too quickly; it proceeds to say that same warning message. However, once I restart the client and proceed with things at a normal pace -- the server allows me to log-in to my account.

Also, when my antivirus detected the Celestia client as a false-positive virus, it blocked/deleted a certain file which led to the same warning message when I tried to log on. To remedy this, adding CL to my anti-virus exception list fixed everything (upon a re-download and installation of the game).

Those are the only scenarios I can think of from my experience, putting aside a server restart.

  10. It's not the game masters job to get involved with player fueds and personal issues. Guilds fight, to prove who is best. That's the way it's supposed to be. If someone reports another player then the game masters will get involved and if necessary punish someone.

Drama is one of the worlds most watched genre in movies and Tv series. Of course people like it :P

I didn't say they had to be involved in personal issues (should have been more specific) ... but read above about that. It's more about how players treat each other, really.

These are just tips for those who don't like drama or don't want to deal with it (a choice), fix-wars are an option and also show which guild is best.

There are many players who are tired of it. A TV-show is entertaining, a group of people calling each other "noobs" (on shout for hours) really isn't ... unless you are easily amused. I honestly don't see the comparison there.

  11. So that the GMs have to deal with petty drama cases which 95% of the time don't actually break any rules, as I said again, not part of the job.  I no longer accept bullying as part of harassment because honestly you have to be very sensitive or young to not be able to deal with that. When it gets to real harassment then you can report it. Otherwise the typical "weak", "noob" etc is always from all sides, it almost never is one sided, so what are we going to ban the 15 players involved in the drama?

From what I've seen, players tend to just shut up and behave nicely to each other when a GM is online -- that was the point I was trying to illustrate, a ban doesn't solve everything and certainly wouldn't solve this. However, the steady appearance of an authority figure would really help out the server in more ways than one.

It's my first thread, I should have been more specific.

  12. I fail to see the point in that logic, we will never even think that drama between players is a reason to get more staff members because that is not part of the job.

Need a GM online when it goes overboard and players start cursing at each other / bullying.

Since the server is international, not every player has the confidence in their English to make a report. You'd be surprised at what simple drama escalates to between players...

  13. Hello; if you choose to follow my guide, then you shall never have a problem on this server. This guide is mainly for newcomers, or for some who just want a laugh.

#1 Rule - Don't hit anyone at PVP Map!

If you so choose to enter this map, understand that 99% of the people there are always mad. Players who hang out there will get mad for the sake of being mad.

Actually, this game will become very hard on you once you start hitting these so-called players.

Sequence of events if you hit players in PVP:

    1) You kill someone or someone kills you.

    2) They kill you or are unable to kill you.

    3) Person you killed brings all his friends to kill you.

    4) Person you killed brings his whole union and guild to kill you.

    5) If you keep "hitting" them at PVP for a few days ... you enter a blacklist (in which, if you are on it -- you are not "allowed" to enter PVP).

By "not allowed" --- I mean, as soon as you spawn on the map and they see your name ... you will be killed non-stop. I repeat, 99% of the people who hang out in that map are always mad -- sensitive to being "hit". PVP map is supposed to be player vs player, but on this server it's more like ... a dictatorship so to speak.

I won't list any guilds or any names, but you know who you are! (cough, this guide has given me new perspectives).

#2 Rule -- Don't get involved in Open Wars!

If you've played on this server long enough, you've probably realized by now that the second most dramatic course of events appear out of what we call open wars (wars you keep open).

    Sequence of events:

    1) You join a guild.

    2) Guild gets open war with a big union.

    3) Losing guild ends war.

    4) Winning guild proceeds to make drama on shout towards losing guild --- shouting "surrender" for two-hours.

    5) The losing guild becomes an "enemy" to the winning guild and is blacklisted from PVP (this usually happens because 70% of the server belongs to one collective large union, and between the smaller guilds that remain on the other 30% -- it is statistically not possible to win against the majority).

#3 Rule -- Use shout for selling and buying items only!

Let's face it... these are the things that will quickly rid you of your peaceful experience on Celestia.

    1) Using a megaphone to talk about your life (you'll make good friends for that)

    2) Using a megaphone to trash-talk someone (see the second rule above)

    3) Spamming random characters on shout

It's less likely you'll run into a problem if you use shout for those things, but if you don't want to come off as "annoying" ... using megaphones for selling and buying items is ideal, looking for date dungeon friends, and game related activities, looking for fix wars etc. Let's keep it clean guys.

Please note: Many players are sincerely trying to buy and sell items throughout the day via megaphone, I think that was the intended purpose for this specific function in the game.

    #4 Rule -- Avoid trash-talking!

use of words like "noob", "weak", "run", which are trivial but will get you into fights that aren't worth it. In fact, the favorite words of half the players on this server are "run" and "noob"

Strategy: Ignore the petty insults and move on, be humble. At the end of the day, if someone takes hours out of their lives to trash-talk you then let them -- because in the end when you close CL you won't be thinking about them. In retrospect, your hater will likely be wasting energy thinking about different ways to annoy you.

If I feel like adding more, I will update this thread.

In the end, all of these tips are a choice -- so if you don't like the tips and such, there'd be no reason for potential flame wars on this thread.

The purpose for making this "guide" was for a few objectives...

    A. Helping newcomers have a peaceful experience.

    B. Make it clear as to why we are seeing a decline in player activity by a monthly basis.

    C. State the obvious, but in a way such that staff will be inclined to recruit an active Game Master.

  14. I'm not holding my breath here, because people will likely assume I destroyed the item or sold it - though here's what happened.

I was at NH farming and after I was done I went to mont blanc port to sell the NH items stored in my warehouse (through the WH scroll). While transferring the items to my inventory I had realized my G-axe +12 magically disappeared and was nowhere to be found. It was equipped to me the whole time while I was farming ... I know I didn't destroy or sell it because all the NH items are in white (for the most part) and I save all the rare items... not to mention the g-axe was equipped.

Is there a possible way I can get my item back? If not, it's really unfortunate because items take a lot of time to earn.
