Making the game easyer will lead to two things: 1 - raise even more the price of things, since everyone will receive the same benefit 2 - low your interest for the game, as it will be less challenging. I must admit, it is very annoying to get lock-stunned by the pirates, but if it was easier to hunt in NH, I would not look for better equipments or weapons.
