Nanaka
Okay so based on replies I've gotten I've concluded that I am addicted to music. But I wanna know howIis that possible?
Tenshi
I would just say you're "addicted" rather than call music a drug, unless you're using the term figuratively. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug Depending on how you look at it, music could be considered as a substance, but if you compare it to more standard drugs, the effects are much less evident. Nanaka
I don't know any better way to explain what I mean other than using the word "drug". More like something harmless but addictive.
Tenshi
You could simply say that you're addicted to music - just because you're addicted to it doesn't make it a drug.

Tenshi
Of course, there are plenty of other people addicted to music and all sorts of things - foods, shopping, video games, fapping etc.

Nanaka
Do you know what "Drug" means o.O? It can't apply to music :P Yes, a drug is a substance usually prescribed to patients by a doctor for a specific symptom. Drugs can also be illegally traded for pleasure giving rise to side-effects like nausea, "getting high", and serious addiction. Music is not a "drug" but I use the word for lack of a better one. If you have a better word to use I will gladly edit the post.
Tenshi
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addiction I think you'll find the first two paragraphs highly relevant.
Nanaka
Yes but music was never listed. I don't need continually increasing amounts if it. Nor do get serious withdrawal symptoms.
Game Master Seraphyre Posted December 28, 2013 Game Master Share Posted December 28, 2013 It's highly "addictive" for everyone, I think, that's why it has had/still has such an influence on society.
Nanaka
So then do some express this addiction more than others? Obviously to some degree cause im a living example. .-.
Tenshi
"Addictions can include, but are not limited to..." Whenever I said addiction, I meant it part figuratively and part literally. Most common addictions tend to be serious with severe symptoms, but music doesn't produce such cases. I don't remember exactly what you said before, but you did say that if you didn't listen to music for an hour or two that you would feel some sort of effect. It may not have as much of an impact as, say, alcohol, but it is a reaction nevertheless. Yes, addictions can vary, and I think you'd be one of the more extreme cases involving music since I don't believe many people to have such effects when not listening to music. Nanaka
Meh. The effects are minor. But still i'll look into it before I make a serious conclusion. Edit: i have concluded i have a minor addiction to music. If you could even call it an addiction. The effects I feel are more of a sense of yearning for music. Thank you all for you input.
