  2. We plan on implementing these, but I cannot promise it will be in the upcoming update. It will require a lot more time/development/testing to implement these, but there will indeed be -some- skill fixes and we'll see what we can do about the maps, but again no promises on that for this update. These are some great suggestions and we will indeed consider them for a future updates, but they would require some serious development and delay the update by quite a bit. This update is mainly a content update along with some nice features we're sure you will enjoy. I was really excited about implementing 'castle siege' until someone showed me what it actually is. It shouldn't even have the name 'siege' because it's the dumbest thing I've seen in awhile. If we implement any kind of castle siege it will be out own version that is actually a siege and MUCH more fun. I'd like to point out that any updates after this update wont have such a long delay. We'll be trying to push out small but great patches more often after we release this big content update.

  5. I'd just like to point out the server is back online under a temporary solution. There will an increased amount of lag from the normal amount, but you will be able to play. The lag will clear up once our hardware is in the new datacenter. If you cannot connect at all, it's possible your DNS has not updated yet. That is all for now.
  6. I've taken the server offline for maintenance due to the network issues causing it to become completely unstable. We'll be attempting to work with our current provider one last time to resolve the issue, if they are unable to handle it I will deploying the plan I mentioned.
  7. I'd just like to point out that we're having severe connection issues today. If this is not cleared up in a few hours we'll be deploying an emergency plan to stabilize the server on a backup network.
  8. Hello, everyone. There seems to be a bit of confusion of the current state and the future of Celestia Luna. I would like to make a few points to clear up any confusion. DDoS Attacks. - We've been running Celestia Luna since 2009, and till just recently we received little to no attacks, because of this we had no reason to pay for very expensive DDoS mitigation services, but as of recent we've been under attack and have been working to find a solid DDoS mitigation solution that suits our needs. Our current provider has been working with us to mitigate these attacks, but we will indeed be moving to a much more powerful solution if the situation worsens. I'd like to point out the child behind these attacks is nothing more than script kiddie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Script_kiddie) who managed to get his hands on a few compromised machines, they're highly unskilled and are in no means a 'hacker'. The upcoming update. - We're working hard on the new client/content update. This update will introduce gear above level 115 and many new costumes. There will also be many bug fixes and a few new fancy features in the client. I cannot give an estimated date for the release as the recent attacks have taken our time away from working on the update to deal with the situation, there is also a lot of debugging and testing to be done, more details will be posted as things progress. Server move + new hardware. - We will be moving our game server to the West Coast of the US, this will provide a much better connection to Asia and many other areas. The new location will also have very advanced DDoS mitigation solutions to deal with any future attacks on the server. We are also upgrading the hardware the server runs on to a MUCH more powerful setup, you will notice some big improvements with performance and we will have much more room to grow. We've purchased all the required hardware and are working daily on preparing it for the new datacenter. Rumors of "shutting down". - I've been seeing a lot worried players and rumors about the server will be shutting down. This is completely inaccurate. We are not going anywhere. I've kept this server alive since 2009 and have no intentions of closing it down anytime. These attacks on our server are just a minor rough patch in the history of Celestia Luna and they will clear up very well and the server will continue to improve and grow. We would never allow some pesky child to interfere with the future of Celestia Luna. I hope these points clear up any confusion and I thank all of our loyal players for sticking with us through the rough patches.   9. I am replying here instead of opening a new topic. It seems we're under attack again today, the attacker has been attacking the server multiple times over the last few weeks. We're going to be moving our protection to another provider as the current one cannot seem to handle these kind of attacks. That is all for now.
  10. I can assure you there is no virus in our client. Antivirus software detects our client because it's encrypted and a lot of viruses also use the same type of encryption. We encrypt our client to help prevent people from modifying their client in any "illegal" ways. I'll be looking into some better encryption that does not set off antiviruses in the next update, but in the mean time it's safe to tell your antivirus to ignore the threat as it is a false positive.
  11. The server is online, but it will be slightly laggy until we move things over to our new setup. If you cannot connect it means your DNS has not properly updated yet, you can either wait for it to update or change your DNS servers. The website will return once it's moved over as well.   13. Hello, everyone. It seems our server is currently under a rather large DDoS attack. Our server IP has been nulled until the traffic dies down. The source of the attack appears to be an angry player who got banned and thinks by attacking us that he will get unbanned. This will not happen. This only pushes us to move the server to a new provider even sooner. Our new provider will be able to filter any kind of DDoS attack like this and will also improve gameplay for players connection from Asia. If you do not know what a DDoS attack is, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack - but I will quickly explain it. Our current server has a 1000 Mbps connection, but the attacker is attempting to push 2000-3000 Mbps of packets into the connection. They simply cannot fit and it causes the server to not be able to serve the legitimate traffic (our game server, website, etc). In all the years of Celestia Luna, we've seen about 1-2 DDoS attacks, because of this we did not feel we needed a DDoS mitigation system in place. This will change now. We have no tolerance for such threats and will not allow some angry child to cause us such issues. He does not understand who he is messing with. The server will be offline for a bit while until the attack dies down or until we get the server moved to our new provider, whatever comes first.   14. I apologize for that. It seems the download server did not get properly started up during today's downtime. It's online now.
  15. This issue is being looked into. I would hold off on using MobilePay+ until I can confirm with the payment team that the bonus is properly applied to MobilePay+. This being said, if you can use the non-MobilePay+ (normal) donation method (which sometimes has mobile payments depending on your country), as darklouie showed it is doubled. If this issue is not resolved in time I will have the promotion extended. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    Patience is key. All transactions are manually verified by the payment team. We get a lot of fraud and this causes us to have to do a lot more verification. Sometimes it can be delayed quite a bit due to many reasons. You're correct, the GM's will not do anything. They cannot do anything about this issue. You have to deal with the payment team. If you feel your donation is taking too long to process, you can start an inquiry on the transaction on the donation page by clicking 'Help'. I apologize if you're having a bad first experience, but it's measures we've had to put in place to prevent fraud.
  17. I just wanted to let everyone know we will be switching providers as our current one proves again to be incompetent. They are the main cause of all our downtime, they have been good over the years but these issues have become unacceptable. The server is back online for now, but we will be moving to a new provider. The good news is the new provider will provide a much better connection to Asia, all players connection from Asia should notice a big difference once we've moved. When we do move, it will be all in my hands and I can promise it wont take more than 15-30 minutes to complete the move. The last "datacenter move" was delayed due to our current hosts incompetence.   19. There is no trojan. Our client is encrypted to help prevent people from hacking. Antivirus programs do not like this. You will have to tell AVG to ignore it.
  20. Keep in mind a lot of donations are delayed due to manual verification to help prevent fraud. Please use the Help button on the donation page, you can start an inquiry on your donation. That is the only place you should ask for help on these kind of issues. There is a team dedicated to dealing with these issues.
  21. Password reset will be implemented, but not until we validate all game account emails. It's something we have put off for quite some time as we've been more worried about the server stability, but it will be added sometime.
  22. Castle siege will be implemented someday. We can indeed do it on CL and have what is required, but it needs a lot of work. We are more focused on server stability and more basic updates at this moment.
  23. The server is back online. I apologize for the extended downtime but there were many issues out of my hands. All of our hardware is moved into the new datacenter and this should help with any power issues we've been having. I'd also like to mention we are working hard on an update for the client and server, it still needs quite a bit of work and testing but I promise it will be worth the wait. I appreciate everyone's patience with this downtime and the lack of updates in general. I highly suggest if you have a specific thing you would like to see worked on first to let us know on the forum, we will listen to the community and focus on what everyone wants the most.   24. Hello, everyone. We will be physically moving all our hardware from the old datacenter into a new one. This move will improve some power stability issues we have been having. I will post a few quotes from our provider: We have scheduled to be moved on March 19th, at 10 AM server time. The downtime should only last around 2-3 hours, but may last longer. Update 1: The datacenter is having slight delays due to blizzards, downtime will be extended. This is out of my hands, blame the weather. Update 2: The move continues to be delayed, we were promised 1 hour of downtime, but due to the datacenter being slow things are still offline. I apologize for the delay but it's out of our hands. Update 3: The physical part of the move is complete, but the network still remains offline. I am working with the techs to get things onine, but the issue is still on their end and out of my hands. Update 4: The network issues have been resolving and I am brining the server back online now. I will post a reply to this topic once everything is complete. That is all for now. ~ Celestia Luna Staff
