When you wear two of the same item with a set effect that is "[1] set effect" the set effect is only applied once, not twice.

Wearing an AK gives you +17% to critical damage and +8% to physical attack speed, yet your HP recovery is cut by 66. IMO, even though holding 2 Lv135 daggers on both hands will obviously give you higher physical attack, there's no set effect applied for wearing one. So, AK can be considered as an alternative to have some oomph.
